Peter served in the navy during and after the second world war. During his later teaching years, when not running a sax octet, he was actively involved in the Kimbolton high School Combined Cadet Force (KSCCF) for whom this march was written. Although composed for the school military band, Peter also adapted this for his school sax octet.
