Luigi Boccherini composed a great many string and guitar quintets, but most are largely forgotten. This delightful minuet from the fifth quintet in opus 11 is one of his best known works, with a memorable theme.
This arrangement for six saxes splits the fast violin part across the middle instruments and with so much going on a light touch is required to retain the feel of a light-hearted dance.
