Elite Syncopations

Scott Joplin, arr. Ben Tordoff

Composed:
1902
Arranged:
2020
Grouping:
sSATBb
Duration:
03:45

Although not as widely known as Scott Joplin's earlier "Maple Leaf Rag" and contemporary "The Entertainer", "Elite Syncopations" is notable both for being one of the few remaining recordings of Joplin playing (as a piano roll) but also being used as the title work for the 1974 ballet "Elite Syncopations" by the Royal Ballet. It is usually performed somewhat slower than many of his classic rags with a more relaxed feel.

This arrangement is also available as part of the collection: A Bundle of Rags
