Better known by the title "Rage Over a Lost Penny" (a subtitle added by Beethoven's friend Anton Schindler), this rondo in the Hungarian style was originally for piano but is often used as a show piece for various different ensembles. Beethoven left it unfinished and unpublished, and it was only after Beethoven's death that Diabelli published it. Schumann commented "it would be difficult to find anything merrier than this whim".
