Rossini’s operas include some of the best known tunes in the genre. This medley includes well known themes from works including “L’italiana in Algeri” (Italian Girl in Algiers, 1813), “La scala di seta” (the Silken Ladder, 1812) and “La gazza ladra” (the Thieving Magpie, 1817).
