Wedding Day at Troldhaugen

Edvard Grieg, arr. Ben Tordoff

Written in celebration of his own 25th Wedding Anniversary, Grieg's piano piece "Hochzeitstag auf Troldhaugen" (literally "Wedding Anniversary at Troldhaugen" but often known as "Wedding Day at Troldhaugen") is a joyful march and interlude with a simple yet memorable theme. Troldhaugen, the "troll hill", was Grieg's home near Bergen, Norway.

This arrangement is a simplification of the piano score but still gives all four saxes plenty to play across the whole range of the instrument. See also our more extravagant arrangement for up to 15 saxes.
