Depicting an increasingly exuberant ritual in celebration of the Greek God Bacchus, Saint-Saën's Bacchanale is fast and fun (and loud) and gives all of the parts a lot to play. In this arrangement the various melodies are spread across the parts from sopranissimo down to contrabass (if you are lucky enough to have them), with sectional moments and soloistic phrases. The eastern influences show through in some of the sinuous themes but the climactic ending is western romantic music at its finest.
Although parts for all of the modern saxes are included, this can be played without Soprillo, C-melody or Contrabass if not available.
