Originally titled "Grande Marche Chromatique" to reflect the repeated use of chromatic scales, this march was originally a traditional march representing the entry of Roman gladiators into the amphitheatre ready for battle. However we now know it more as the screamer march "Thunder and Blazes", played at high speed, and familiar as introducing the clowns at the circus - a very different type of gladiator!
This arrangement was created in 2018 following the Plural Sax reunion, along with another screamer march: Rolling Thunder.
